  • The situation in one sentence: where, what was short, and by how much.
  • The decision that was yours rather than the team’s, and what you chose not to do.
  • One number or one consequence that shows it worked.

Every competency is scored out of five with a line you actually said as evidence, and the weakest answers are rewritten as structure and specifics, never a script.

What Inside Sales interviewers keep scoring

Prospecting & pipeline generation

Builds pipeline consistently through calls, email, social and referrals: researches targets, personalises outreach, works a cadence and hits activity and meeting-booked numbers.

Qualification & discovery

Asks questions that uncover need, budget, authority, timing and pain; disqualifies poor-fit leads early and hands over or advances only opportunities with a real reason to buy.

Objection handling & resilience

Responds to price, timing, competitor and 'not interested' objections without folding or arguing, and keeps activity and attitude up through rejection, quota pressure and bad months.

Product knowledge & value articulation

Knows the product, market and competitors well enough to link features to a specific prospect's problem in plain language and to handle 'how are you different' credibly.

CRM discipline & pipeline hygiene

Keeps the CRM accurate and current: logs activity, stages deals honestly, records next steps and produces a pipeline view a manager can trust.

Closing & target delivery

Moves deals to a decision: creates urgency honestly, asks for the order, negotiates within limits and delivers against quota consistently.
